This is another oldie and a fav of mine. When SEGA asked The Ayzenberg Group to help them bring Sonic back for two new games, our challenge was to make the blue hedgehog relevant to a new generation and build fandom for his whole team of friends. I co-wrote and was the Creative Director for all VFX and animation integration. Directed by Noah Eichen.

The cat wrangler arrived on set alone and since I knew the last shot’s choreography, I volunteered to don the blue suit on that scorching hot day in Los Angeles to ensure we captured the necessary action. Rest assured, no feline friends were harmed during the making of this commercial.

During our collaboration on the commercial spot, we earned the confidence of the SEGA development team through our expertise in animating Sonic and his beloved friends. This led us to pitch an influencer video in partnership with Smosh Games. The concept was to invite Sonic fans to join a San Francisco scavenger hunt that ended with a tour of Sega’s facilities and a peek behind a forbidden door to discover a mind-blowing secret.
