Anthem Trailer

I was honored to be an ECD on the Facebook Oculus account during my tenure at Ayzenberg.

VR is cool, but people wearing VR headsets don't always look cool. On this Oculus brand anthem, we wanted to defy this preconceived notion by using swooping camera movements, a dramatic blend of live action and CG, and actors trained as professional dancers, who knew how to move their bodies in inspiring ways.

CHALLENGE

Increase awareness and drive sales for the Oculus Rift, a VR gaming product that is a 'top-of-funnel' market with high interest but low trial and purchase. Consumers don't really appreciate the power of VR gaming until they've tried it; once they have, they're hooked.

INSIGHT

VR gamers aren't looking to escape from their lives. Rather, they're augmenting their lives with extraordinary transportive experiences

APPRoACH

We showed how real and virtual lives intersect, inviting consumers to 'Step into Rift' through an immersive social and digital campaign.

REsUlTs

The result is an artful mood piece that not only reveals the promise of VR, but also conveys the exhilaration and emotional impact of moving within a virtual world. Oculus Rift exceeded its annual sales and overtook the competition in overall share of voice.

My role was one of the ECDs and the Animation / VFX Director. This spot was directed by Shaun Collings. Currently clocking in with 11 million YouTube views.
